The Space Pro can cope with any MQA signal on any of its digital inputs. If one wants to pipe audio from a computer to a DAC, the XMOS microcontrollers are the solution for completing this task at the highest possible quality, therefore we went for a 2nd generation XMOS USB XE216 chip. This tiny chip with its 16 cores offers up to 2000 MIPS of realtime processing power, which allows us to do both Stage 1 and Stage 2 unfolding of the MQA audio materials, not only from USB, but also from the coaxial and optical SPDIF inputs. In the case you are listening to non-MQA materials, the Space Pro can enhance the sound by upsampling your incoming PCM stream to a sample rate up to 768 kHz. To fine tune the sound, you can select a low-pass filter which suits your needs. For the physical USB 2.0 interface we fitted a type B USB 3.0 port, which allows usage of legacy USB 2.0 cables as well as USB 3.0, which generally have a better shielding.

Built-in CPLD-based re-clocking stage for the best possible sound quality, which only a jitter-free source can provide. Upsampling and jitter correction is provided by an Altera Cyclone Max II CPLD. Upsampling can be bypassed for your own preference, while jitter correction is permanently turned on.

High Precision Low-Noise Line Preamplifier
In case if you wish to connect an additional source to the Space Pro, you can do that with the analog line level input. This allows you to connect your tape deck (reel to reel or cassette), FM tuner, or any other analog source. The signal will remain in the analog domain. Space Pro is equipped with the most complete input ports of this series, in addition to optical, coaxial, USB ports, we even added a I2S input via a HDMI connector to differential transmit I2S signal, maximize the transmission performance of the I2S port, to make the data from the short-distance transmission between the chips into high-speed interconnection between the devices. Get rid of the USB transmission or S/PDIF transmission re-encoding, and let the original digital audio stream directly into the D/A chip. For the physical USB 2.0 interface we fitted a type B USB 3.0 port, which allows usage of legacy USB 2.0 cables as well as USB 3.0, whichgenerally USB 3.0, which generally have a better shielding. XLR connectors are used for the main output, which carry a balanced audio signal. The balanced output is capable of delivering up to 5Vrms. We have decided not to bundle any remote control with the unit, so we made it work with the remote you already own, and probably don't even use. The revolutionary RC Wizard function allows to teach the unit the codes of any infrared remote control, no matter who made it and what was it meant to control. If you need replace the RC you used, just re-run the RC Wizard and teach the Space Pro the commands from your new RC.
